HOW MUCH CAN CUSTOMERS SAVE BY REPLACING THEIR
PUMP?
That depends on the how old their existing pump is
and what brand it is. Most standard circulator pumps installed in
Europe are D/E-labelled on the Energy Label scale. Replacing one of
these pumps could reduce your energy consumption by up to 80%.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE THE CUSTOMER'S
INVESTMENT PAYS OFF?
The exact time frame depends on the cost of the pump
and on the cost of electricity in your market. If the old pump is
labelled D or lower, an ALPHA2 pump saves homeowners 400 kWh per
year on average. If you multiply that figure with the price of a
single kWh, you will get an idea of the customer's return on
investment.
WHO INTRODUCED ENERGY LABELLING TO PUMPS? AND WHO
CHECKS THE FACTS?
The Energy Labelling scheme was introduced to pumps
in Europe in 2005 by Europump, the European Association of Pump
Manufacturers. The scheme is voluntary for all participants,
meaning that each company rates its own pump in accordance with the
rules laid down. The entire labelling system is completely open, so
everyone - not just Europump - can check that all ratings are
correct and everything is in order.
